Theory of Autism Etiology Debunked

Forty-five minutes after a suggestive photo was posted on a popular weather website insinuating the cause of autism, Darren Piersol, spokesperson for the National Association of Autism Education, was up in arms.

“I want to set some facts straight,” said Piersol over a Skype interview earlier this morning. “If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a hundred times: staring at a hazy cityscape around sunset does not lead to autism. In fact, a person can look at buildings any time of the day they want to; they will not get autism [from doing that]. I’m staring at a skyline right now, and I am not developing autism.”

Piersol added, before turning his computer camera to face the skyline outside his window and marching out of the room, “No, we don’t know that much about autism, but why would that make any sense?”
