Clifton Simms, world-renowned chiropterologist, has devoted
the last 52 years of his life to the study of bats and their role within the
animal kingdom. His findings? “My research has shown that, if the human race
had to select one animal to go into extinction, it could maybe choose bats, and things might still turn out OK. On the other hand, bats might be absolutely critical to our survival on Earth.” He added, with a
noncommittal but honest shrug, “Who’s to say?”
